8th Biennial International Commission Competition
• Award: A $3,000 commission will be awarded for the selected composer by the University of New Mexico John Donald Robb Musical Trust. The commissioned piece will be premiered during the UNM John Donald Robb Composers' Symposium, March 28-31, 2019.
We are pleased to announce our 2018 Spring Season Call for Works! We will select 30 – 40 pieces to be programmed on our channels from March 2018 through August 2018. This project is not a commissioning contest. FMS18 is an effort to promote and curate many works by living composers. The works will be selected by the score follower team, typical of our normal submission process. We will hold a similar call for submissions twice every year (one in the fall, one in the spring).

The Veridian Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Series is a professional symphony orchestra and concert series in its Seventh season serving the Yuba/Sutter area of Northern California created to bring together the high level musicians that perform in the region with the aim to strengthen the cultural life of the twin cities. Tango for Musicians is North America's leading tango workshop, providing the tools needed to play, arrange, compose, improvise, and teach tango music. Now in our sixth year, the workshop attracts participants throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, and beyond who are eager to learn, explore, and experiment with tango music in deep and meaningful ways.
The 18th Street Singers are excited to announce our second Choral Composition Competition. The winner will receive a grand prize of $1,500 as well as travel and lodging for our June 2018 concert at which the winning composition will be performed.
All composers are welcome and submissions will be judged anonymously; however we especially encourage entries from composers who identify as female, LGBTQIA+, a Person of Color, or a member of any other under-represented group.

We are looking for good sounds for our upcoming festival which will be held in Rostov-on-Don, Russia during May and June 2018 (exact dates are yet to be defined).

- say important things or ask strong questions about sounds, or music, or art, society, nature, life, the universe and everything;

- Compositions must be submitted to the Competition Office 3 December 2018 at the latest.
- The Jury will be Finland’s Kalevi Aho and Magnus Lindberg and Estonia’s Erkki-Sven Tüür. The conductor member of the Jury will be Olari Elts (Estonia).
- The following prizes will be awarded: I prize €11,000, II prize €9,000 and III prize €7,000.

MetWinds 2018 North American Student Composer Competition
The Metropolitan Wind Symphony, also known as MetWinds, is announcing its third North
American Student Composer Competition. The goals of this Competition are to stimulate
student composers to write new, high-quality music for the wind band, and motivate highly
talented student composers to persist in building a career in composition by rewarding them
with recognition, commission, and performance.
1.1. Rules for Entries
ABOUT THE COMPETITION:
Composers are invited to submit works for the MASMENOS 2018 International Composition Competition. The winning works will be premiered by the “masmenos | vocal femenino” ensemble
1- The competition is open to all composers, without limitations of age or nationality.
2- The deadline for submissions is 17th June 2018.

Call for works for percussion chamber ensemble
II European Meeting of Contemporary Percussion
Xàbia - Alicante - Spain.
From 9th to 15th of July 2018
Call for international composers whose pieces are written for percussion chamber ensemble.
The pieces will be presented at the II European Meeting of Contemporary Percussion, and will be performed at the closing concert of the Àgora Actual Percussió Festival by the festival's resident ensemble.
The selected composers will be invited to participate in the round tables before each concert.
The Wyoming Festival Call for Composer Fellows

The Alba Rosa Viëtor Foundation organizes its third Alba Rosa Viëtor Composition Competition.
The Alba Rosa Viëtor Composition Competition 2018 invites composers to submit an original work, not exceeding 9 minutes, for one singer (soprano, mezzo-soprano, alto, countertenor, tenor, baritone or bass) and piano trio (violin, violoncello and piano).
We are seeking landscapes, real and imagined.
One Quiet Plunge, an organization devoted to new music performance in New York’s Hudson Valley, is commissioning one to three new works on the theme of place and landscape for premiere in August 2018 on our program country/…/city/…. Blending found sounds and video footage of the landscapes of the Valley with newly commissioned works that create “imaginary landscapes” from the same material, the program will explore what place can mean to each of us.
